Parish Day on Élise 2017
Apart from the opening ceremony of the Elise beatification process, as every year, the parish of Mailly-le-Château organized a day of prayer and commemoration of Élise Bisschop.
It was a special day because of the presence of the church family this year. Indeed his four nieces were able to come and honor us with their presence. They were very happy to see that the memory of their aunt is still very much alive in Mailly and moved to pray with us at the family grave.
On the program there was first a retrospective in the form of a film. It was Ms. Isabelle Téqui, head of communication for the diocese, who produced it with great skill. Everyone was impressed with the progress made!
Then there was the presentation of the postulator, Father Dominique-Marie, on the current state of the cause and on its future stages. As in any case, it takes a lot of perseverance and consistency in the work.
Reading Elise's prayer "The offering of the hearth" put us in front of the beautiful vocation that Christian spouses have. With the Blessed Virgin the daily offering becomes possible.
After we went to the family grave where a confident prayer went up to God for all those who are there, especially of course Elise.
The day ended, as tradition now wants, with a happy shared meal.
