Elise Bisschop Prize: meeting of our poetry jury in Paris
After many email contacts, we had the immense joy of meeting Madame Jocelyne Tarneaud and Madame Laurène de Beaulaincourt in Paris. For this first interview, our association invited the ladies of the jury to lunch at the restaurant Le Vaudeville in Paris. The very friendly exchanges were punctuated by many questions about Élise and her family before switching to her little poetic work and the context of its discovery. Father Dominique-Marie Morstad had brought the typescript collection of Elise's poems produced by Father Jourdain Bochin, the ladies were very happy to consult this authentic document.
After a meal filled with smiles, Madame Jocelyne Tarneaud took us in the footsteps of the former Imprimerie Gamichon Frères et Bisschop in the 2nd arrondissement. This large Parisian printing press, spread over several sites, once belonged to Laurent Bisschop, Elise’s grandfather. Madame Jocelyne Tarneaud, a resident of the district, was our invaluable guide and, thanks to her, we made wonderful discoveries of the past. At the end of the day, we took the walk to La Samaritaine, freshly renovated, then to the church of Saint-Germain-l'Auxerrois. We left for Yonne with the shared feeling of a very successful day.
