The Christmas market in Clamecy
Until the last moments, we have been waiting for the organization of this event. It was very likely to be canceled like others in France but finally, on Sunday December 19, 2021, we had the pleasure of unpacking the decorative items on behalf of the association.
We had the idea of selling a few small Christmas cribs in order to put Jesus back in the center of Christmas. Four types of luminous nativity scenes had been ordered specifically for the occasion (in wood, fir ball, for children). On the large table, passers-by could also find homemade cookies, decorations to embellish the table or the Christmas tree made by hand by Raphaëlle and her sister! Then the leftover candles from last Christmas.
It was freezing cold, but armed with my thermos of coffee and the trifolds on Élise, I was able to warm myself up by introducing her, giving candles to some and explaining our association to others. I did not see the day go by, about fifteen nativity scenes founding a home to light. At the end of the day, the table was very sparse.
A large majority of the people we met were surprised to learn that a young lady, close to their home, was in the process of being beatified. Some had seen the poster of our poetry competition in town, all impressed by the beautiful journey of this young girl from Mailly, her talent, and her heart turned to the Lord so young.
