First mention of Élise Bisschop

The history of Elise rises from the ashes this Tuesday, December 19, 2006 in the church of Mailly-le-Château. That day the vicar had invited those available to come and clean the church for Christmas. At the end of their work, Mrs. Strack spontaneously spoke to her about her memories of Elise, whose father had painted the beautiful painting of the Annunciation, which can be seen in the church.

Mrs. Strack especially evokes the collection of poems of Elise which she had received some time after her death. She invites the vicar to read these poems because Elise was a saint.

The vicar had the collection in his hands in the first days of 2007. On reading he is struck by two things: on the one hand the beauty and the spiritual depth of the texts, and on the other hand by the very beautiful preface written by the Dominican father, Father Jourdain BOCHIN.

In fact, shortly before her death, Élise had entrusted her collection to Father Bochin, the Dominican who was at the head of the group of sick people that Élise had joined. After Elise's death, Father Bochin provided for the transcription of the collection as well as a private distribution among the sick and some parishioners.

It became evident that Elise's soul had exceptional qualities.
