On this morning of April 19, marked by rare clarity and a fresh breeze, Father Jacques came to celebrate Mass and gathered the faithful around the memory of our "Holy" one, the one “from among us,” for a fervent and recollected prayer.
After the celebration, the small assembly made its way to Élise’s grave to place there its thoughts and prayers, imploring the grace of her beatification. A very beautiful poem by Élise, “Morning Prayer,” was read from the heart by Raphaelle.
The tomb, carefully cleaned and adorned with fresh flowers, seemed to shine with an invisible presence.
On this day of remembrance, nature itself seemed to bow: spring, a discreet companion, wrapped hearts in its new gentleness, and every ray of sunlight seemed like a silent message from Élise, coming to touch those who still love her.
Then a friendly vin d’honneur was held in the warm hall of the municipal foyer in Mailly.
There, with glasses raised, conversations blossomed, weaving memories and stories about Élise’s life.
Each person, carried by the gentleness of the moment, shared anecdotes and testimonies, prolonging in conviviality the luminous memory of the one who continues to inspire hearts.
