There are two sources for Elise’s texts: the first is the collection of Poems and Songs and the second is her letters.
What is extraordinary in the story of the discovery of Élise is that this story was born, and subsequently developed, exclusively by the donations of texts of which the direct witnesses of Élise were in possession.
The very first donation was from the collection in January 2007 after a Christmas 2006 conversation revealed its existence. The witness of Élise who had this copy insisted very much that it must be read and discovered in its spiritual beauty.
The arrival of the letters covered a period of ten years, from 2007 to 2017. We have today 116 handwritten letters from Elise, the first of which arrived 55 years after it were written! Such an event could hardly be expected in a remote rural area.
