Sunday, April 6, 2014 was the day fixed for remembering in the parish the 50 years since Elise's death. The day was filled with joy.
The diocesan review, "L'Église dans l'Yonne", also publishes an article on what is happening in the parish of Mailly-le-Château.
The parish newspaper announces that there will be a commemoration of Élise Bisschop in April, recalling the 50th anniversary of her departure.
In a providential way, a lady, former owner of a photography store, comes to know that the parish is interested in the Bisschop.
General surprise. A villager rings the presbytery on June 16, 2010. Having heard that the parish is interested in Élise, she brings an article dating from May 1964 from the parish newspaper of Châtel-Censoir.
A long work of editing and layout begins in order to make Élise known to the public of today.
Mr. Jean-Louis Lajambe has, with his wife Nicole, a wonderful collection of photographs on Mailly-le-Château. They gladly opened their treasures to search Élise.
Thanks to the information given by the first witnesses, we find in the city of Auxerre Gilberte, a childhood friend of Élise's. It is with great kindness that she welcomes us to her home with her husband.
In the batch of letters revealed by Mlle Bourdillat, the tenth letter was that of the parish priest, Father Girard, who announced the death of Elise: "A holy from us".
